What is a Mission?

What is a Mission?
The season of Lent is a call to Conversion; a call to Renewal.
A parish Mission invites us to take time out of our busy schedules to grow closer to Jesus Christ.
There are extra opportunities to attend Mass, Adoration, Prayer; to reflect on the Scriptures; listen to challenging and inspiring talks; and to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

The Mission begins Monday and finishes Thursday night.
Services (which include music, scripture, sermon and ritual) will begin at 7pm and will last between 60 and 75 minutes - a social will follow each noon and evening service.

Our preacher is Fr. Kevin MacDonald, C.Ss.R., member of the Redemptorists, who will proclaim the gospel message through his life, learning and personal experience - beginning with all the weekend Masses on February 2.

Why should I come?
Why not? Is there any one of us who is not in need of change? To be Renewed or Reconciled?
Do you know someone who needs/wants to come back to the Church?   Invite them to come with you.

What if I can’t make every session?
There are different sessions / something for everyone.
We hope you will come as often as you can! See our flyer for other Lenten activities.

How much does it cost?
There will be a free-will offering for Fr. Kevin’s community, before the presentation of Gifts at the closing Mass on Thursday evening or donations can be made anytime during the Mission. There are also plenty of ways to help: publicity, hospitality, serving/cooking, praying for the Mission; music ministry and many others.
